Founded as a band in 1984, the group and its dynamic later changed. Marcel Hollenstein, with his effusive lyrics on the microphone and Karl Steffen, with his offbeat projections, have continued the Halle K project ever since. Starting in 1991, Mario Marchisella laid down the rhythms with iron percussion instruments and drum pad while Holger Walther and Hannes Bissegger intensified the atmosphere evoked by the images and text with sounds, riffs, and dazzling effects on the guitars. For “Kühlwasser” Michelé and Maya Elsener translated the prevailing mood into wall-filling drawings using overhead projectors. Kishana Kinashi and Gilliana Steffen, integrated as guests into the Halle K concert, explored the concept of identity through a performance. |
